LinkedIn lowers age of consent to 13 • The Register.

Cut through the waffle and this is a gather numbers game pure and simple.

LinkedIn is a professional contact site not another Facebook.

IMHO, bad strategy.

I asked Linkedin about it as I agree with you, and this was their response…

“Thanks for your email and I would first like to apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry. We have been experiencing higher than expected volumes, and your patience is greatly appreciated. LinkedIn’s mission is to connect the world’s professionals and we’re now including students to help them discover and prepare for opportunities more intelligently and effectively as well as helping them connect with university staff, recent graduates, and alumni already on LinkedIn. This in no way means that LinkedIn does not intend to stay a professional service; all members must abide by the rules set forth in our User Agreement as well as our Community Guidelines.”

Rest got cut off….. So pretty much sticking to their original story, but it will be another facebook with connection requests flying let right and center to see how many connections they can rack up….
